4 years? is that really true?
I hear differently each time. I think different ADs have different waiting times. For example when I asked the London boutique about the 5235, I was told the list was closed. I asked an AD in another city and he said I was first on his list. I would probably ask an AD in a smaller town about the blue Nautilus.
I like the Royal Oak too, in fact as far as looks go, that appeals to me more- my personal choice of course. But after a 2 year period, will you be thinking I wish I had waited longer and got the blue Nautilus? Unless you can afford to get both, put your name down for the blue Nautilus and get the RO now. I always try to get what I want, no compromise within my small budget or I don't get it. These are not cheap watches and I work very hard for my money.

And bought a NOS white dial (2nd hand) to wait. And I love it ...
The white is also beautiful and I like it very much
but go for the one you really like, your first choice. A little extra wait is worth it.

You can order one for the next generation Yes it depends on AD. Some of them have shorter waiting list.

if the AD/Salon feels you are really liking the watch and you come every now and then to visit the shop in order to know how things are going on about it and they feel you're motivated, they'll be much more likely to please someone like this than someone ...
