Elegant vs Sporty

J is the elegant elder sibling while P is the sporty younger sibling. J is exacting and definite with the tachymeter, P is free-wheeling and carefree with missing tachymeter. I guess it all boils down to taste and personality. P gets my nod though. ☺️

I’m Literally Blind

I kept thinking to myself I love this green dial on the new 5270p but it doesn’t look good as my 5270j that I own. Till it hit me- I just figured out what is missing. And as much as I wanted to eventually add the P to my collection- I have zero interest i...

I like the J much more than the white metal green dial version...

The last photo confirms it for me. The green dial piece seems so cool and modern that I don't think I would like it 10 years from now. I don't think the next generation will find it a "classic" neither. The J version you have looks like it will stand the ...

Some great observations

And after weeks of trying to figure out what it is that was different about the P- some astute observers have explained it. The P is much more sporty, more modern looking. I kept thinking it would look great on a shade or rubber strap. Great with jeans/. ...

same feelings here

was offered the p two weeks ago from my AD and something felt wrong with the watch to me - I believe that this special green shade will not be something that I will like in a few years ahead. and it tries to be more sporty but it does not fit with the lay...

I could live without the tachymeter scale, but the hands really look like a downgrade to me.

And I agree, these kind of „flashy“ greens have a high risk of not aging well in a collection.

Couldn’t disagree more

I was hoping this watch would be available one day with dauphin hands, wich I find absolutely matching and an upgrade for this powerful 41mm case. Now they got me! The green gradient dial took me by surprise and I think it’s drop dead gorgeous. The dial i...

love both

but for different reasons... although they share reference numbers the identity of them are very different. I like everything they have done with the green P. It has a younger vibe and I think it will be a future classic. The J is a modern classic in its ...

I think it’s all about personal preferences and taste.

For me the dial of the green 5270p is more balanced since it offers a better solution for the indices at 5 and 7. And the missing tachymeter scale makes the whole appearance calmer. Just my HO. All the best Thomas

Hope you didn’t get me wrong!

The 5270J is also a great watch, wich would be a big pleasure to own and to wear! Kind regards Tempus

Unless you really like the green dial, the J to me is

more classic looking, especially given that it has a tachymeter scale on this PCC.

Green dial with tachy…

Would be my dream combo. The green dial is amazing.

For me the remove of the tachymeterscale was the right decision

In my eyes the very first version is the undefeated champion of all 5270s as it combines the sportyness of the new P but with a more versatile and timeless dial. Green is imho just too trendy and special for such a classic watch. I like the J as well very...

Undoubtedly both beautiful.

My preference is the tachymeter scale but I can see the allure without it. I mentioned I was in Geneva at the factory and saw some hints of a yet to be released piece. Perhaps you might see a different color in the future for the 5270. . Stay tuned….

I like both versions. Could be that by a green dial the moonphase is to „much“.

Great reference

All personal preference as the 5270 is a great reference, better with the tachymeter for me. In my opinion, the best was the 5270p and personally I think they should have finished production with the salmon P dial. Not a fan of the green dial.
