F.P. Journe

So finally the lid has been taken off what Francois Paul has been cooking up for a while. 

Im assuming this is a side project of passion and not a new career path....Ladies and Genlemen, welcome to the  "F-P Journe - Le Restaurant"

It has been a rumor for some time that FP wanted to open his own restaurant in Geneva. Those who know him well, knows he is a connaisseur of excellent food and wine. 

"F-P Journe - Le Restaurant" will be run by the well renowned Geneva based Chef Dominique Gauthier (formerly awarded Chef Of The Year). 

Located at  49 Rue de Rhone, Geneva - it is opening in november,  in a historic restaurant establishment with a conserved historic interior.

Is this different from the previous location, or did Journe acquire an expanded ownership stake? I had dinner with F.P. and a crew from the company in the fall of 2017, and the restaurant on Rue de Rhone was said to be his at the time. 

Actually, it is the same location. But everything inside will be different.

Dominique Gauthier is a fantastic Chef and a very gracious man. I was fortunate to dine at Le Chat Botté many times, the best place by far in Geneva based on my experience.

Better than the salmon dials of his timepieces! 😝

DOn't you know who I am???  Careful ChristianDK!  Everyone is going to bother you for a reservation now.  And everyone is going to complain to you when they can't get a reservation now!  And how come I cannot get the exact table I want???  I almost always get Sinatra's table at Sinatra's favorite restaurant!  

Btw, What is Sinatras favorite restaurant?

I actually find the food in Melvyn's to be not that great - they have some great dishes, but they have some mediocre ones too. Don't order the Hamachi Crudo. I'm certain Sinatra would've sent that back! Been in Sinatra's seat many times at that restaurant - courtesy of my friend who's a Sinatra fan. When we drive to the restaurant, he even puts on the Sinatra Satellite Radio station!

The venue looks very cool. I will look it up if i come to Palm Springs.

Again, not really a great restaurant overall. I don't think people go to Palm Springs for the food. Best food in USA is still in Napa Valley (wine country) mostly.

And definitely failed in the former!
