Heading back to Colorado
It’s been mixed weather, over the past month and suffered through a Kono Low for a few days. Thankfully, we didn’t lose our place.

It was crazy for 2.5 days: 20 inches rain in Kihei, 40-70 mile hour winds, no power.

Sorry the weather wasn't great. At one time we did February but it was too iffy so we moved up to March which was pretty reliable. But we never had a storm like you did.
When we go this year in late April I hope it gets all this nonsense out of its system. Vacationing in crappy weather isn't all that fun.
A buddy of mine was there once in early 2000s when they had to be evacuated to higher ground.
The problem with Hawaii is you can't just get on a plane and bail if things go south. Airports close, no planes coming in, none available to leave etc etc.
I hope that you experience typical April weather in Maui!
They are saying this was a 100 year event, let’s hope that’s the case.
