There is a lot of rumors abot Rolex at the moment
As they will cut down the production of the professional line and a watch is not allowed to leave the store with the stickers on.
In UK they say the dealer keeps the certificate for 6 months so it will be a problem to sell the watch. And now they have to send
the customers name when they order a watch that is on the waiting list so Rolex can control how many watches they are ready
to sell to the same buyer. It's been more strange for every day I will say if this is true.
So maybe this will be the next step for Rolex?

I can confirm peeling the stickers because when I got my Daytona....
my AD rep who is their trained Rolex ambassador took out every single tiny protective films away, even those within the clasp which I always requested to keep.
She said this is the new rule and that was last year.

From what understand from my AD
is they AD's must do it Rolex' way or hit the highway so to speak, and not sell Rolex anymore. I hear they control everything at the dealer level. My AD said Rolex made them put a Rolex "boutique" in one section of the store to continue being a dealer.
Not surprising when you are considering what is happening with the new steel Daytonas
Same thing as with the Patek Nautilus. Long waiting list and some people resell them immediately.
A bit of a pointless exercise really in the case of Daytona
If someone really wants to sell the watch to make a profit, they will wait another 6 months- they have already waited for 3 years, what is another 6 months.
As long as the watch remains in an unworn condition, stickers or not, it will sell at a premium. In fact, I think these rules will boost up the prices even more. The more difficult the manufacturers make it to get the watch, the more desirable the watch becomes and hence the more profit to be had by the grey market dealers.
As a huge fan of Rolex, I see this is a step backwards
At some point, they have to realize they can't micro-manage the market and bully ADs. What's the point?
I love the brand but I'm afraid their corporate ego will eventually hurt them.
So, as they run around with a heavy fist, I can see Omega and others getting stronger, as the reputation of the brand we all know and love, gets weaker.
I would rather see them focussing on embracing the customers and market rather than trying to rule from on high.

if i paid for the good, all things associated with the good is mine once payment is made in full. Who in the right mind would enter into such unfair transaction? Fake demand

The chatter on other forums suggests the WG BLRO is discontinued - I hope this is true.
I have also heard of cut backs in the professional line but not sure what’s to be gained by it. The brand also has desirability and I would imagine plenty profit for what under the hood is a fairly plain offering so I’m struggling to understand what the strategy may well be. There is current shortage of that there is no doubt so who knows.
The sticker situation is true as experienced (in the Uk at least). The retention of warranty card would make me walk out the door empty handed no question.

Names can become difficult to track
One can use names of friends and family. I don’t think it’s going to change anything.
So Rolex monitors the “waitlist “ by the AD?
My AD just has a sheet of paper that is handwritten. My name has never been on these sheets. I guess I will never be able to buy a Rolex, if this is the case. I normally just walk up to the owner and get anything in stock, unless it’s already prepaid. There is really not a list to known customers. It’s really relationship.
New Oyster last November
I was surprised the stickers had been removed from the new Oyster ref: 116000 I bought from a London AD, but I did say I would wear it straight away, having had the bracelet shortened while I waited. Not sure how important stickers are for the future (I expect to pass the watch to my son when I move off this planet!). After a brief call to the AD the day before, the precise watch I wanted was available to buy - no waiting list.
Buy the way, I am a bit disappointed with this watch's regulation. It regularly loses 7 seconds per day, so it is going back to the AD. I cannot stand any watch that loses time and 7 seconds is well outside Rolex's claim for "Superlative Chronometer" of +/- 2 seconds per day. I checked all its positions on my Timegrapher and each shows a loss with average beat error of 0.22 m/s and average amplitude of 279º (a bit low I think). Anyway I shall see next week.

we all know what Patek is doing and playing "hard to get" game, so to see that Rolex is doing similar things I'm not surprised, on the end Rolex is better known brand...

What does Rolex think it's gaining by removing the stickers? I have a long term relationship with
my dealer and this is the first I've heard of this business. I'm sure that if I asked her not to remove the stickers she would not.
Do they hire a person or group of people to count the returned stickers, insane!
Rolex has so much money why in heavens name would they care what happens after the watches are initially sold?
These comments I find really troubling, why don't they simply cut their production in half and charge twice as much?
This is simple proof that individual freedoms are being eroded every day.
You build a product, you sell that product for what you consider a fair price, after that let the individual who purchased
said product do what ever they please with it.
This is just ridiculous...
