I walked in the room with camera in hand; he was sitting up on the counter and I just snapped it, from a foot away.
Here's the original. I cropped it and added a little light to the shadows (as he was backlit by the windows)

Your portrait inspired me to watch 'cat videos' with my daughters for a full hour tonight (chock-full of 'awws'). The youngest is almost old enough that we can get one without worrying (I'm looking at a British Blue or a Khao Manee).

My daughter's new 'rescue' cat. A vociferous Burmese. She has two. (I gave her the other.) She also has a Maine Coon and a Heinz 57, the latter rescued, too.
