Debating between 5172g or 5170p
I am kinda dont know what to do...
Which will you get ?

I have seen and tried on both pieces before but i have not made up my mind ...
Any suggestion?

If you don't know what to do, don't do anything. Or take both. I would go for the 5172. I much prefer its case and hands, and I am not fan of baguette diamonds. [nt]

I am 99% of the time a sports watch guy, but very uncharacteristacly I would choose
5170P

That to me should answer your question. One is 39.4mm and the the other is 41mm so they will fit your wrist differently. Other than that my vote goes to the 5170P for the following reasons. The dial on the 5170P catches the light very well so it changes colour beautifully. The same movement is in both watches but it fills up the case back of the 5170P much better. The 5170P is in platinum which has the edge over the 5172G's white gold case. The 5170P is a future classic in my opinion and the diamond markers are hardly noticeable.

Such an important decision is one of pure personal preference and should not be put forth to a committee! Besides, if you're asking yourself this question, you're likely to be at least somewhat successful, if not very successful. Go with your gut, it's gotten you far in life already!
5170p for me.
Unless you can stretch to a 5070p then it’s a No brainer.

Without a doubt, 5172 for me
I prefer the larger case, Also I would love for the 5172 to have the same blue dial resilience of the 5170p. But you have to give and take with what you can. Movement is not a factor here, as both have the same in house movement. Please let us know what you choose at the end of the day (you can not go wrong with either, both are spectacular pieces).

Though if i was looking at the 5170 range, i would go for the G, again because it is less dressy and uptight
This choice is a challenging one and I understand why it is difficult ! IMO, having seen both in the metal, the 5170 has a...
more lovely blue dial and the diamonds are acutally understated.
On the other hand, the 5172 has more interesting syringe hands and an excellent strap. Hence a tie based on the above observations.
However, price aside, in terms of metal, I would slightly lean on the 5170P given its heft and the feel on the wrist.

I vote for the 5170p
I think it’s intended to be a far more special watch, with the gradient dial, platinum case and of course diamond indicies (which are very stealthy and don’t look like diamonds unless you look closely). For me it’s one of the best. Plus, I’m just personally not a fan of syringe hands.
Don’t buy either,
Unless you’re absolutely sure it’s something you desire.
Wait till it’s something you must have, whatever the watch may be.
I would make the same decision today. But that’s just me.
