Agree with you that it’s doubtful that a document exists in Omega HQ explaining the reasons of the drop of production of this watch. It seems this will remain as one of the several horological puzzles we collectors would love to solve some day. Let’s hope... 

. . . but . . . I already have a Rail. True, it's an automatic, and I'd much rather have a manual. If Omega makes a manual Rail, I'll be first in line, but also parting with the 60th anniversary model because too much ground would be duplicated. A manual ...
