this revives a dilemma for me

I've been putting off buying one of these because I couldn't choose between the "traditional" Speedy Pro with the hesalite front and solid back and the "sapphire sandwich" model with the display back.  Finally, in previous posts, Jack and John had both persuaded me that the traditional version (solid back) is the better choice:  more authentic, less ostentatious, etc.  Less expensive too, I might add.

Here's the problem.  How can anyone read Jack's enthralling treatment of this watch's movement and NOT want to see it all work in real life?  I'm not a watchmaker, and I would never trust myself to take off a solid back to peer inside.  This means that if I buy the solid back, it's all left to the imagination.  That was emotionally feasible before Jack showed so vividly how it all works.   Now, I'm not so sure.
