CK859 Timekeeping
By: ant : April 18th, 2022-19:19
Being a litlle obsessive (if you believe that, you'll believe anything!)...anyway, moving on , I thought that it'd be interesting to measure the 859's timekeeping over a week. The result is little short of astonishing. I carefully set it against my radio ...
Not surprised…

…of all the watches I have owned, Omega always most accurate. ...
I Agree
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-13:52
my Speedmaster Broad Arrow is also very accurate. Regards Antony
Yes, every day
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-13:52
What else would you expect from an OCDer? ) Kind regards Antony
That's good to hear,
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-14:07
that we are equally 'enthusiastic', and that mine isn't an oddity,,,just 'biz as usual' for a CK859. Kind regards Antony
😄👍

Ahhh, look at that...
By: destrodan : April 18th, 2022-19:45
...Grossmann Hamatic movement. Absolutely sublime and a form of art!
I completely agree,
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-13:54
it just happened that I was alternating with it, certainly not comparing. Regards Antony
Thanks

Time keeping
By: Weems@8 : April 18th, 2022-20:34
Great results i read. Manual wound. I guess the results will be better, plus 1 and than no plus and minus. It will be at point 0 when the movement had run in. Same as a very high accuracy quartz watch.
That Mortiz Grossman is BEAUTIFUL!
By: patrick_y : April 18th, 2022-21:12
Oh, wait, this post is about the Omega's accuracy. Let me switch gears here. Yes, the Omega is wonderful. Oddly, my Rolex runs about 0.5 seconds slow a day! And perhaps odd to some people, although not a huge surprise to me, the mass brands like Rolex and...
Great minds??
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-13:58
Maybe yours, but certainly not mine. A mid-wit! ) Kind regards Antony
I expect that
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-13:57
they have the resources to really understand regulation in its totality. Not that VC or PP are small, just that maybe it is not so critical for them. Regards Antony
Huh?
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-14:00
Out of my class, I drive a boring old man's Lexus LC
Oh! The new one?
By: patrick_y : April 19th, 2022-14:47
That new LC looks really impressive. Especially the rear end! What a handsome looking car! CH Gruyere is the one with the Lamborghini - well had a Lamborghini.
It is lovely to drive,
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-18:39
beautifully finished, and quite fast enough for an old man in UK! You don't see many about. Kind regards Antony
I do not want to sound silly,
By: ant : April 20th, 2022-07:21
but driving it is a sublime experience. I have never owned a supercar but have had a stream of Maseratis, until the recent ones (yuck!), they proved very reliable and were charismatic. The Gran Turismo and QP5 were beautiful. In the early days nobody knew...
That's a solid logic!
By: patrick_y : April 20th, 2022-14:40
Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the LC is a very rare car. I see more Maseratis (I'm not a fan of the modern ones myself) than Lexus LCs. However, we've also become a place where we're now all adopting electric cars! I'm also quite sensitive to road n...
Interesting point
By: ant : April 20th, 2022-16:57
The LC definitely had considerable road noise, just like the Maserati. My tyre dealer recommended changing them for a specific Michelin. The transformation was nothing short of incredible. Kind regards Antony
Speaking of tires...
By: patrick_y : April 20th, 2022-18:50
I need to find an extra quiet tire for my Tesla. Since the tire noise is so obvious when there's no engine noise to cover it up!
No need. Thanks for offering!
By: patrick_y : April 20th, 2022-22:25
I'm very familiar with all the tires that fit on my vehicle. Unfortunately, I'm not enamored with my choices. For the US Market, we haven't gotten the Michelin ePrimacy and Michel Pilot Sport EV available in my vehicle's size. I'm especially keen on tryin...
Congratulations
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-13:59
When you are ready I'd enjoy seeing your pics. Regards Antony
Fractional seconds per day timing is impressive . . .
By: Dr No : April 18th, 2022-22:21
. . . and if my experience with the 60th anniversary Rail is any guide, the timing performance you're experiencing now will still be in store five years from now. Btw, my nearly six ty year old Genève chronometer . . . . . . offers similar timing performa...
And I expect
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-14:01
that it would have been much harder to achieve back then,,,kudos to them. Kind regards Antony
Impressive by any standards!
By: sham1 : April 19th, 2022-03:57
Puts many more expensive watches to shame and a triumph for Omega and the co axial escapement!
Yes it does.
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-14:02
I hope that you and yours are well. Kind regards Antony
We are thank you
By: sham1 : April 19th, 2022-15:32
and I trust you and yours are well too.
Hi Ant.
By: TheMadDruid : April 19th, 2022-10:55
Hope you’re doing well. I’m not surprised as I’m experiencing similar great results with my new Speedmaster Chronoscope. Omega does seem to have it’s act together.
Lovely to hear from you,
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-14:04
it does seem that they are a cut above everyone else. I hope that you are coming to London sometime soon, a nice meal beckons! Kind regards Antony
I have no doubt that
By: ant : April 19th, 2022-14:05
after this huge success more designs will follow. Regards Antony
