Seamaster deville kleerback returns from the spa
A short while ago i posted the aquisition of a rare 560 calibre US cased Seamaster Deville kleerback.
omega.watchprosite.com
I sent if off 2 weeks ago to my friendly watchmaker who was extremely impressed with the condition despite it not having any servicing for many years. He did a standard service plus mainspring and full polish of all the 'glass'.
It arrived back this morning and looks the business. I've gone the expense of putting an oem Omega strap with retro buckle on it as a watch this rare deserves the real thing.
I took it out of the padded envelope this morning and it was only a few seconds off the correct time which is a very good start. The movement looks superb underneath the virtually invisible Hesalite caseback.
There isnt much else to say really except i now have this rare piece in tip top condition and good for another 5 years.
I'll end with a couple of pics i took this morning.

Enjoy.
Graham

Will you wear it?

If it is so nice and so rare, can you bear the risk of wearing it? I can see wearing it because watches are meant to be used. I can also see preserving it pristinely in a display case or a bank vault. Regardless, it looks pretty darn wonderful to me. Rega...

I'm wearing it right now Jon. I see no issue with wearing it as the most delicate bit is the hesalite caseback which i assume is irreplacable and that is against my wrist. I'll be careful when i wear it, but my lifestyle is not that hard on watches. As yo...

This is a very special display back Kyle. Made for a monocoque cased seamaster deville in very small numbers. I do like your display back and wish i could find someone to make them for me to show off some of the 60's handwind movements i have. Best G

That was a very big bonus, but i would have taken it even if the year was wrong. No one really knows how many were made, but going on the calibre 560 ratio of approx 300 per model then taking into account that its a 560 adjusted movement and a lot of them...
