I'm guessing yours is in a good condition so whilst it may be easy to move on I'd say it would be very hard to ever replace. Marc

Have been looking both at vintage ones like yours and the modern version. My trouble is that I'm a right-wrister, and with that huge crown assembly sticking out the left side of the case, the watch is clearly made for left wrists. I wonder whether it can ... 

Omega PloProf Right Hand Crown There are two lines of thought on these some original right hand crown watches were prototypes and others claim it is possible to fit the dial upside down and fit a new date wheel. I don't think anyone has a definitive answe...  

I had not heard the prototype story! The good thing about the dial flip story is it had me imagining getting a new one (a no-date titanium model) and paying a watchmaker to flip the dial for me. Not something I'm likely to actually do, but a fun idea.

. . . of watchmakers ordering replacement date wheels by caliber rather than reference number. The date wheel for Ploprofs is specific to ref 166.0077. A date wheel for any cal 1002 will fit and produce a workable watch, but only in reverse. Unfortunately...
