Hello friends!
Last week I posted a few first shots of my just arrived Trilogy set, and I promised to take some additional shots to be taken during the week end.
For those friends who didn´t view that previous post, I´ll answer here some questions made on that post.
One of the questions asked in my previous post was if I had ordered them separately or if I did ordered the trio set. Mine was ordered separately as I didn´t care about the extra words on the dial. I wished to have these watches as close as the original as possible, at least with their looks. Just a personal preference.
The other question made was if I owned or intended to gather a similar set of vintage examples. The answer is simple: I would adore that, but at this point of my hunting efforts I know it will be not possible: The CK 2915 Speedy has reached such a level price nowadays that it is now in a niche I can´t reach. The RM has been elusive during the several years I had been hunting it. I only found one in very poor condition a few years ago, and its asked price was a true madness.
I was lucky though with the CK2913 of which a fair example of 2913-7 I own since a few years ago.
Another question was which was my favorite of the three. That´s a simple question with a not easy answer. I tend to say the RM is my favorite, I love the design of this watch and always regreted not being able to find a vintage piece of this model... but I badly needed the Speedy 2915 for my collection of this classic model. And the SM300 is one of my favorite vintage divers so... why not own one of these tributes or replicas?
I would have loved the RM came with a manual movement as the Speedy does, but in any case I appreciate that Omega supplies both the RM and the SM with a wonderful modern automatic movement inside.
I feel Omega has done a wonderful job with this Trilogy: they got the good looks, the finish and the high quality we expect from the brand, and a wonderful opportunity of wearing these watches without the worries and concerns we usualy have to risk a marvelous vintage watch in daily wear or in conditions like wearing them in a pool or sea.
I changed the original SS bracelets suplied for these leather vintage type straps which I like to use in my vintage watches. It is possible I will change them in the future for other straps or return to the bracelets depending on my mood.
Now to the pictures:
I took some pictures of the watches and a few comparing the modern rendition of the SM 300 with the vintage one I own. I also tried to get shots of their awesome dome glass which are a good tribute to the vintage originals and add to the charm of these modern pieces.
I wish you will enjoy the pictures that follow!
All the best, Abel.
