Why would they, the 1861 works just fine.
It is said that Omega has conducted all those tests, as NASA did earlier, on this watch and later NASA may certify those tests.

Since decades it has been all about marketing.
It's not clear that the picture shows an applied Omega logo....
Otherwise looks ok to me with the improvements and a small price increase. Anyway it is the last call for those wanting a basic moonwatch or a FOIS to get to their dealers.
