In dollars and cents, agreed . . .
. . . but you know my modus operandi: any vintage worth keeping gets the full-on treatment from the get-go, even if technically unnecessary . . . it's a matter of having a baseline that's most important to my way of thinking. The Mk II that's now in your collection was a basket case externally, yet the restoration cost no more (and probably less) than a mint version. The problem with the Flightmaster is that some parts are notoriously difficult to come by except from Omega, and my understanding is they're no longer releasing them to independent watchmakers, so you've got to go thru their service department.
I'm considering models more along the lines of Graham's cal 321 Seamaster . . . a simple cal 320 would be ideal.
Thanks Art.

Difficult to justify now . . .

a really lovely piece now. You sometimes do hear horror stories about Omega's refurbishment of vintage watches but I have had no direct experience - I don't suppose you'd mention the order of cost for all this - or is that something we don't do on this fo...
That finish . . .

That sunburst finish is just beautiful. From what I understand, not just anyone can achieve this look. And the way the radiating brush strokes continue over each edge perfectly - - really well done. Not some hatchet ScotchBrite pad job. Former glory, achi...
