Omega

hi Airbur and welcome to the forum.

if the model you sent is a 145.012 as the pic of the PC screen suggests then it doesnt have a huge value, probably not much more than the quote for repair, however, it being your fathers watch it is well worth a repair due to its sentimental factor, but not by Bienne.

our problem is we havent seen the actual watch, but i would not have the following things done.

1. hands....best kept original if they arent bent and knackered

2. dial ....best kept original

3. bezel....best kept original unless its totally mangled

4. bracelet....you can buy one anywhere for pennies. no need for an original and they look great on leather straps.

even the case could be kept unpolished and original if you want it to show the wear and tear your father put on it.

on that basis any local repairer could do it as its only a movement service with crown/pushers/glass replacement. all the flaky lume will be cleaned out during service.

i'm not a fan of refurbed pieces unless they are past redemption and that point is down to you to decide.

these are pics of both my 1964 speedies in original condition. they show wear and tear, but thats only natural.

best

Graham
