after consulting my omega library
best thing is to strip the dial from the movement and see what's written on the back of the brass dial
1 the dial with arabic numerals 12-2-4-6-8-10 is not seamaster as all the ones i can find have 12-3-6-9 if arabic numerals are used from the 1950's on seamaster
2 the dial needs to be loupe tested to see for the factory brushing as the repainting the dial would of taken this off on stripping
but looks repainted or refinished/touched up
3 i do have a seamaster from 1951 with the blue seconds hand(shape-ok)-but the hour and minute hand had luminova in the centre cut out-shape of hands ok
4 the calibre 351 was started in 1949 the first seamaster auto has cal 350(28.10 non chronometer-30.10 chronometer) in 1948 . the mvt number 11575400=1947-1950(11m-12m)
5 the crown looks to be correct shape
hope this helps towards making you decision

Here's another 'scientific', this one a ref 2446 . . .

. . . previously posted on this forum by the owner. If Tony's friend's example has an original blued seconds hand, my sense is the original dial would've been a 'scientific'. It seems ref 2582 may have started off branded solely as 'Omega', then later mor...
