You took the right decision about a full service as, after 10 years, your timepiece needed, at least, new oils. Now, it is ok for the next 7 to 10 years.
Regarding the little dust, if you know a good watchmaker around you, he could help you as it is just a little problem that he could quickly solved.
About the polishing of your timepiece, unfortunately you cannot go back. Next time you will send it for a new service, just indicate that you don't want a polishing.

I wasn't really sure to expect for polishing so I thought I might give it a try. Probably wont do it again for future watches though! I'm glad the softening of the lines is just very slight. This piece is definitely a keeper=)

Glad you like the strap combo, was a little hesitant but I think it worked out quite well. I guess the only way to get factory finish polishing is sending the watch back to Switzerland. I've heard some great stories about how IWC is able to restore cases ...
