Regarding the polishing, just keep in mind that the more angles your watch has (Royal Oak for instance), the more difficult will be the polishing.
Of course, it's always possible to polish a watch (but it depends on the precision of the watchmaker) if it's in a disastrous state. But if you can keep it in its original state don't hesitate.
Finally, a lady is always more beautiful with slight wrinkles ;-)
