And talking about the original "Bond" Seamaster

I once did a quick and improvised pictorial comparison between the first "Bond" Seamaster and the lastest (maybe the last?), with ceramic bezel an dial. You will notice that size is the same ans porportions are almost the same. The second incarnation, the Co-axial Bond, received longer hands, which I find quite interesting, and framed luminous material on the dial, giving it a luxurious look. This have those same features, plus the shiny and smooth dial and the ceramic bezel. Not everyone fell in love with this last incarnation, though... Anyway, the bracelet kept the same design, almost impossible to tell the different when looking right at the face of it, but pretty clear differences on the side. Screwed links (not necessarilly a upgrade) and quite heavier (also not quite a upgrade for everyone's taste). Last, but not least, the case thickness grew a lot and although it's ok for today's standards, it ruined one of the greatest qualities of the original Bond's Seamaster and the other contemporaneous Seamaster Professional 300M: the incredibly slim case, specially for a 300 meter resistant watch, which made one of the most confortable 300m watches ever. The Seamaster 300M in titanium was even more confortable. Here are the pictures. Best regards. Adriano

As the movement is a caliber 2500D, which is basically the same as the good old 1120 (or 1108) of the original, just with different escapement. All based on the ETA 2892A2 and with the same dimensions. So this was really a aesthetic decision, not technica...

For some stupid reason I let go of my original seamaster. This brings back all the good memories. It was/is truly a comfortable and capable watch and above all, it looks great. Just look at that wavy dial.
