My guess is that Panerai wants to show their " new " movement, the Cal P 3000( wasn't it introduced last year, by the way? ).
But if you look at the Pam 127, it was also the solution used by Panerai ( see through case back ).
I've been surprised by the way they engraved the serial numbers on the lugs, too, but I think it is always the case when a brand changes something you're used to see and live with...
I love the way Panerai had a look on its past with all these small details, and particularly the big words on the 372.
Now, there are some limits, I mean Panerai will have some difficutlies to re use the " 6152 concept ", this year being, to me, one of the last, at the risk to abuse of the concept.
Well, we still miss a 4 lines 6152, without crownguards...
And we miss a 6154!
