I searched for more information on the trade-in program that IWC mentioned to me and I actually found that there is indeed a formal program that is detailed on the Panerai website (see below). Good to know.

Agreed, they are very charming. But I think i’ve had my fill of Panerai for a long while.
One of the forum members explained that there may actually be a trade-in program, but I decided I’m not going down that road. I’m at peace with that, thankfully 😅
