Panerai 662: A no holds barred review

 By: Miranda : October 9th, 2016-14:33
If there ever was a reference so revered that it takes on almost a devine presence it is 6154- aka The Small Egyptian Most admirers and even non admirers of Panerai have longed for Panerai to produce a homage piece to honour thus devine reference. So when...

I think that you, Sergio and me are speaking the same language when it comes to the 6154. The language of passion and madness for the 6154. So, when the 662 came out, I was waiting for some thoughts from people who are big fans of the 6154. By the way, I ...

The irony is that the 399 had a slimmer case

So why they made this thicker and called it Small Egyptian is a mystery But does this mean that is the end of the line for a base 1940 Or will they introduce yet another 1940 base with a thinner case Maybe like the 372 in regular production? Here courtesy...

It has been my opinion...

forever that the 6154 should be..left alone..and not "hommaged" by Panerai. The uniqueness of the dial, alone, makes it impossible to emulate anyway. Still and all, as you wrote, in its own right I find the 662 a rather handsome modern Panerai, deeply "co...

I find the 662 to be a wonderful modern interpretation with lots of Panerai DNA...

That said, I am very interested to see what is released for the Richemont 20th Anniversary in 2017. Maybe a sandwich brown dial in 622 case that will be a tribute to the 6154? Who knows, but many Paneristi's are very excited to find out! Chuck A

would be on my p.o. view a shame if they

would introduce next year a new re-edition of a 6154 which is thinner and closer to it. I would consider as a pretty unprofessional and i would be really upset about it. Even though it would not chance my opinion about the 662 which is just a great and un...

great summery and it brings it just puts it on the spot. I felt the same. On the beginning a bit unsure due to the color of the dial and the question how close it that to the 6154. But it revealed part of his beauty already in the boutique and I somehow f...
