This is one that really captured my attention because I DO like the green dial color and the 40mm size is optimal.
My thoughts:
(1) the loss of the red accents is noticeable if you are a fan of the 1858 Tachy. I think those red accents make a subtle difference to the charm of the overall dial. It is lost charm with the green one.
(2) the loss of the pear-shaped crown is another knock against the overall charm of the new version.
(3) the Arabic numerals are too swished by the registers at 2/4/8/10. I think the design should have been changed to lume-filled baton hour markers or something similar instead of Arabic numerals. Perhaps keep the Arabic at 12 & 6 only.
(4) the slightly raised price is disappointing when there is no major technical innovation here, mostly cosmetic. I know our PPro code discourages talking about price. I will only say that Montblanc is trying to having its cake and eating it too. I guess the luxury watch recession is a distant memory to Montblanc.
I am a fan of it but I think the original 1858 Tachy is a better value IMO.
