For sure. 40 mm is easier to wear. I also like this size. Thanks for your answer. [nt]

Montblanc Villeret 1858 Tachymeter: 2016 or 2018?

 By: amanico : April 16th, 2018-12:27
So close, so different at the same time. 44 mm polished case, without beveled lugs, on your left / 40 mm brushed case, beveled and thinner lugs on your right. Both mono pusher Chronographs, but one is located in the crown, while the other is at 2 o clock....

That would be a hard choice to make.

I would have to see it in the flesh. Your pictures make it look almost vintage. Very cool.

Villeret 13.21 movement is . . .

. . . less compact? I thought it was more, Nicolas. Confused, Art

LOL. Good analogy! [nt]

I am slightly bothered by the truncated numerals on the Green dial.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the dial of the blue version, which is near perfect. M4

Rumor-ish

heard from a VERY SERIOUS COLLECTOR that the earlier versions have better finishing... these would be dated in the very early blue dials... why? Once MB saw the popularity (let's face it--they never had a hit on their hands) they increased the production ...

I would think so! [nt]

May be for a Montblanc Collector both

For a Mulltibrand-collector one is enough. I love more the green one. Best Walter

Just curious...

The 13.21 is the one inside the 44mm version right? The movement is more compact and yet the case size is bigger?

Ahhh

 By: traineract : April 17th, 2018-09:08
Okay now that makes sense. Thanks nico!

Not your fault nico

My bad for the assumptions!

Green for me.

 By: VMM : April 17th, 2018-07:51
Mainly because of the size. As we already have discussed it would be nice to see it with the pusher in the crown like it's big brother. Vte

So difficult to choose...

I like the size and case of the 1858 Monopusher better but prefer the dial colour of the 1858 Tachymeter. As to movements, both are finished to the same level, so... So are you tempted to get the other one, too?

Love the green. But enamel is the way to go.

btw This 44 mm blue monster is saying hi! ...

;-) [nt]

Yes, too cool! [nt]

 By: amanico : April 18th, 2018-09:50

I would agree :)

 By: KMII : April 18th, 2018-08:26
Enamel like Robinโ€™s is certainly the way to go!

+1 [nt]

Both beautiful

 By: Dave G : April 20th, 2018-04:02
But I would pick the 40mm green version. Dave

I own some 44mm watches

 By: Dave G : April 20th, 2018-04:23
but I have decided they are a bit too big for me. Size is the primary driver.

Blue and nothing but the Blue my friend !!

The monopusher on the crown does it and that blue gives you that sensational feeling ) If I would have the option and the money Iโ€™d go for the blue 44mm
