I really like this watch. It is so honest and well made and an excellence in thinness. The dial colour and finish is very high standard. You know it’s going to last for 100 years 39 mm! A closed case back would have made it perfect. What do you think? ...  

But I must say that JLC cream colour( triple cream I would call it as it’s got a tint of yellow somewhere) is really nice live.

And super price point for QP that you just know is going to work well for a few generation. JLC Wishlist : enamel black dial on Wg or steel. No sunrays please.

id pick the steel model. The only sticking point for me is the year indicator. I know it’s a perpetual calendar but for the sake of symmetry, does one really need to be reminded what year they are in? Thanks for sharing.

At first I didn’t but I’ve come around. I like the uniqueness of it and it underscores the fact that it’s a perpetual.

Somehow it pops more out when you see it on pictures.

Perhaps you could look at the black dial version which is stunning

I normally prefer coloured gold with a darker dial, but this one really surprised me in the metal because it has this creamy yellowish hue. Really nice combo and pictures doesn’t do it justice.

I’ve seen it in steel with a black dial. That’s gorgeous. Don’t know if that one comes with the year aperture or just leap year indicator. I like rose gold yellow gold platinum white gold steel haha because it differs very much per watch type and purpose....

The moon and stars were really well finished when checking with a magnifier. JLC had issues with that on the Duomètre if I remember correctly.

I was thinking my remark about the solid case back would be more provocative. It would have been a bold move from JLC but probably not commercially viable. It would have added to the thinness as well.

And in an ultra thin that even makes more sense.

And on top of that, if memory serves me right, it has this time-day-date-month-year setting system that prevents you from changing any of those if the mechanism has already begun its work. What I mean is that you can’t flip the date via the crown if the m...

Even if I just traded in the only one I had in rose gold. What do you mean by PR? The marketing? Or is it an abbreviation for something else?

I haven’t tried it but I hear the adjustment is pretty intuitive and safe, which might be compensating for the lack of RdM. I guess they had to compromise making a 39mm (ultra)-thin perpetual. It’s like accommodating a family of 6 in a 2 bed flat.

It's size is about perfect, it can be worn dressed up or down, and is basically a perfect all around watch. I'm also a big fan of the gold case with the cream dial. I see some comments about the lack of a power reserve indicator, which is true, however th...  

I have to say it’s a watch that is very difficult to photograph well, and I’m certainly not a good photographer. It is worth checking out in the metal though, as it’s a lovely watch. You can’t go wrong with either version of this watch. I probably would f...
