Yes an exceptional super engineered movement with ordinary finishing should have been under a solid gold case back.

And in an ultra thin that even makes more sense.

Master Ultra Thin Perpetual. What do you think?

 By: jlc.thomsen : October 30th, 2019-13:13
I really like this watch. It is so honest and well made and an excellence in thinness. The dial colour and finish is very high standard. You know it’s going to last for 100 years 39 mm! A closed case back would have made it perfect. What do you think? ...

Agree- black dial is tops on this model have you seen it?

But I must say that JLC cream colour( triple cream I would call it as it’s got a tint of yellow somewhere) is really nice live.

Yes. Was the previous rotor not skeletonised?

And super price point for QP that you just know is going to work well for a few generation. JLC Wishlist : enamel black dial on Wg or steel. No sunrays please.

I like this watch.

id pick the steel model. The only sticking point for me is the year indicator. I know it’s a perpetual calendar but for the sake of symmetry, does one really need to be reminded what year they are in? Thanks for sharing.

I actually like the year aperture

At first I didn’t but I’ve come around. I like the uniqueness of it and it underscores the fact that it’s a perpetual.

+ 1 [nt]

Love it

Perhaps you could look at the black dial version which is stunning

I like the black a lot, but haven’t seen it in the metal. Have you?

 By: jlc.thomsen : October 31st, 2019-15:58
I normally prefer coloured gold with a darker dial, but this one really surprised me in the metal because it has this creamy yellowish hue. Really nice combo and pictures doesn’t do it justice.

Steel black

I’ve seen it in steel with a black dial. That’s gorgeous. Don’t know if that one comes with the year aperture or just leap year indicator. I like rose gold yellow gold platinum white gold steel haha because it differs very much per watch type and purpose....

+1. The evidence by the picture.

...

1 the blue steel is top.

The moon and stars were really well finished when checking with a magnifier. JLC had issues with that on the Duomètre if I remember correctly.

Great feeling it is to be in agreement with you Jedi Master

I was thinking my remark about the solid case back would be more provocative. It would have been a bold move from JLC but probably not commercially viable. It would have added to the thinness as well.

That's the point. [nt]

On top

 By: Jurry : November 1st, 2019-07:07
And on top of that, if memory serves me right, it has this time-day-date-month-year setting system that prevents you from changing any of those if the mechanism has already begun its work. What I mean is that you can’t flip the date via the crown if the m...

Nice watch! Just need a cape to go with the watch :)

just like Dr. Strange ...

Maybe just me but

I like colored metal more and more... exxxxcellent piece and metal! (Wish the PR was better, that's all I can quibble.)

I am getting the same feeling with coloured metals

 By: jlc.thomsen : October 31st, 2019-15:50
Even if I just traded in the only one I had in rose gold. What do you mean by PR? The marketing? Or is it an abbreviation for something else?

Power Reserve, presumably. It is short...

It will not make it from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.

You’re right. That’s almost a flaw on a perpetual.

 By: jlc.thomsen : October 31st, 2019-23:09
I haven’t tried it but I hear the adjustment is pretty intuitive and safe, which might be compensating for the lack of RdM. I guess they had to compromise making a 39mm (ultra)-thin perpetual. It’s like accommodating a family of 6 in a 2 bed flat.

Cool. And another finishing of the movement altogether.

But are you still ultra thin when you’re almost 11 mm ?

It's lovely [nt]

I own the back dial version and I'm a big fan.

 By: g_schroder : November 1st, 2019-07:57
It's size is about perfect, it can be worn dressed up or down, and is basically a perfect all around watch. I'm also a big fan of the gold case with the cream dial. I see some comments about the lack of a power reserve indicator, which is true, however th...

Thanks!

I have to say it’s a watch that is very difficult to photograph well, and I’m certainly not a good photographer. It is worth checking out in the metal though, as it’s a lovely watch. You can’t go wrong with either version of this watch. I probably would f...

I like this PC very much!

 By: MTR : November 1st, 2019-09:21
It is very well and „intelligently“ made and also very versatile with an extremely well wrist presence. Much watch and features for a fair prize. The only thing that prevented me from buying it was that - for me - the readability of the subdials was not o...

You should buy one if you don't have it. 👍

 By: geross : November 1st, 2019-14:21
I'm seriously thinking about it too. It's awesome. Geross

What will be REALLY great will be if they release...

the rose gold with black dial & black strap, as they did with the 37mm in 2001. Searching the reference brings up the following...... -Dean

Yes, superb combo! [nt]

 By: amanico : November 2nd, 2019-09:56

Wow yes that would be something for the ultra! [nt]
