Thank you so much for this long-form review. Excellent, as always.

Your observations seem spot-on. The "new" Reverso chrono is more of a reintroduction and reimagining of the JLC Reverso chronograph forebears than a fully new watch. Well argued and demonstrated, counselor smile

I think the overall size will be OK in height and width, but I do wish the thickness was reduced. Thickness has a big effect on wearing comfort, especially for non-round watches, and 11mm+ is not svelte at all.

For this piece, I'm unconvinced by the leather and canvas strap, but that is an easy fix.

Regarding the verso side, I wish JLC dispensed with the blued screws -- some are blued; others are not. The ones that are blued distract a bit from the blued chrono hands. I'm also concerned with the visibility of the hour and minute hands on the verso side. I'll have to validate or dispense with that concern in person.

Overall a very nice watch and I look forward to seeing it in my local JLC boutique soon.

John

Watches and Wonders 2023: Hands on review of the Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph.

By: amanico : May 1st, 2023-07:48
The big novelty from Jaeger Lecoultre this year certainly is the Reverso Tribute Chronograph. Indeed, the 2023 collection unveils some iterations, such as the Reverso Tribute Tourbillon, or the Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon Hybris Artistica, without forg...

I put a depoist down on one a few weeks ago here in Hong Kong

After seeing both demonstration models I opted for the gold. I agree with your harmony point between the two sides. That said, both are beautiful! Dave

Thanks for the great post Nico!

I like: - the look. It is very handsome, particularly the gold (which seems to have more contrast than the steel - if the movement was gold plated it would loose some of the contrast and so personally I am glad it is not plated; - the fact that you can te...

Still on the fence

I own Gran Sport chrono (black dial with arabic numerals) and not entirely sure if it is worth upgrading to a new version. The larger case size wouldn't bother me: by whatever reason reverso cases wear small. Are longer power reserve, dressier appearance ...

Thanks for the great photos and your wonderfully detailed review!

I love the steel version and am seeing it in the metal next week. Hopefully the large size works for me. I don't mind that the two sides are not as harmonious. It's like getting two different watches for different occasions. And I love both sides!

I am, as always, disappointed by the size

What adds insult to injury is the use of an evolution of a movement that was originally designed for a GT case, which would have been WAY better than this monstrous slab. When are we going to embrace elegance once again? It's the brands' responsibility to...

I must say, I completely missed the time on the verso side....

I have been used to looking at the chronograph since it first lauched in the 829 version (in gold), as well as the 859 in steel and overlooked the detail of having time on the chrono side! I DO like the fact that it now gives you 2 watches, an elegant cla...

Great analysis

Thank you for putting up a very informative and detailed analysis on this newcomer. To me this is one tough watch to wear because of its dimensions.

I agree the rose gold version has better set of hands for reading the time.

The steel version is not easy to ready, i.e. of course referring to the reverse side of the dial. For JLC, putting on a synchronised time dial on the reverse dial is a piece of cake. There is indeed nothing new about this Tribute to Chronograph, except it...

Not quite as good as the 1996 version, but certainly way cooler than the Gran Sport edition. Your review has changed my opinion of this new Reverso, but has underlined some aspects I would have liked such as keeping the 1996 case dimensions (or at least, ...
