I agree the rose gold version has better set of hands for reading the time.

The steel version is not easy to ready, i.e. of course referring to the reverse side of the dial.
For JLC, putting on a synchronised time dial on the reverse dial is a piece of cake. There is indeed nothing new about this Tribute to Chronograph, except it is to remind watch lovers the early 90s manual winding chronograph did exist, maybe that is what the "tribute' meant.
I have to disagree the removal of the start/stop button is better. The start/stop function is to remind the owner whether the chronograph is running. People do forget about it after clicking the 'go' button.
Both the Rose gold and steel version is larger than the Gran Sport version which I own. I put them on in a boutique and really did not feel the watch sits well on my wrist.
The newer version is thicker than the old version and there is no date!
