Why is this watch not popular? Seems perfect at 42 mm, simpler bicompax dial and *no* date... It even comes with a blue dial... ...  

Nothing really unique about it, though.

I have been contemplating one for a while, at the same price point of a Seadweller JLC offers a far higher grade of finishing and features, fantastic daily watch. My favorite is the simple time only model.

...about JLC and Richemont. I tend to prefer their 3-handers (The Polaris Mariner Date or Memovox are the ones I'm considering) but I've read posts about misaligned internal bezels. I've also heard about water resistance issues with the previous generatio... 

I had this one in my collection for a while but it saw very little wrist time. ...  

Wears like 43 mm. And yes the movement is too small. I have tried the simple 3 hander at 41 mm, it wears like 42 on my small wrist

Some of the negatives that I see: - too small movement for the case made obvious by the very central positioning of the sub-dials - outdated and very basically finished movement with on top a cheap tungsten rotor : definitely not JLC-like - I was able to ...
