Jaeger-LeCoultre

looks great, really makes me think

I really like the looks of this watch, but I'm suprised at JLC's choice of the caliber 899 rather than the Autotractor.  For years I've read opinions that  JLC calibers are more delicate, more "dressy", than many others, and the inclusion of the 899 here is puzzling. Then I got thinking that since the SEALS are a lab for JLC to test their watches, that JLC would not use the 899 here unless the caliber really proved itself. So my thinking now is not so much about how rugged and reliable this watch is, but more now that the original Master Control with the 899 must be seriously rugged and reliable for a dress/casual watch, and also the new Master Grande Ultra Thin.

What is puzzling to me, however, is the pricing: there's a huge premium for this watch over the Master Control, and it makes me think about what I'm paying for here. Is it the depth rating? The titanium? The rubber bracelet? It's a great looking watch and I'm really excited about it, and probably will be my next JLC...I'm just typing out my frist thoughts here
