Jaeger-LeCoultre

I do like

It would be nice if the dial was available in French, like the original - for me it would add a touch of romance (well, at least a Romance language, hehe) to the watch.

Aside from that there is much to admire here, a great case, useful complication, nice dial and a solid (albeit not captivating) movement. I do like the new rotor and that they are using straight rather than curved Geneva stripes, however the architecture is not anything to talk about from a visual standpoint and the finishing seems the same as you would get on any other standard JLC, which is to say, competent and clean and clearly done by machine.

The somewhat pedestrian movement finishing is balanced out by what I vaguely remember was quite an interesting price point - under US$20k, is that right? Pop it on a very very dark brown strap or maybe a deep grey and you have an attainable watch that not only has horological value but can also be worn most places and will be out of place only in real sports or other outdoor environments, I should say.

Best
