Flawed: Automatic-Alarm-Calendar vs Automatic!

Nicolas, now that the Polaris remake has been widly acclaimed

it is time for the critics! biggrin

While the 1968 reedition has been done fine (apart from the use

af an aged lookalike yellow luminous mass) the 1965 seems to

be flawed in front of its historical background. As far as I know no

Memovox with a JLC dial had Alarm and/or Calendar written on the

dial. That was reserved for the American market LeCoultre models.

And no Polaris with a JLC dial had Alarm and Calendar written on

that very part! Even the photos provided by JLC as used in your

review and on the JLC site show the JLC Polaris just with Auto-

matic written above the 6. Only some LeCoultres ones came with

Automatic-Alarm-Calendar. So it is not some kind of incoherent use

of words on the dials of the vintage models, it is a serious flaw on the

one of the 1965 reedition!

Also I do not understand why the luminous dots around the alarm-

disk have to be black in the reedition. Does Magalie want to fake a

vintage look by this, as the vintage dots tend to become black over

the years? biggrin

That is just my point of view, but I am sure more learned collectors

of vintage Memovoxes will come up with theirs. Come on Clavi and Ilja,

do not let me stand in the rain alone! sad
