Dear Sirs
Surprisingly late in my collecting career I’ve just included the classic Reverso.
This speciment is from around 1934, and so “only” a LeCoultre.

Considering its nearly 85 years old, the watch is in fair shape, and well within my wabi sabi tolerance.
The revolving case looks good and tight, fitting snugly into its base when faced upward.
However, the fit is not so good, when the dial is facing downwards, gaping 1-1½ mm and not clicking firmly into place.
It´s most likely because the crystal has not been fitted right and is protruding slightly.

I’m not happy trying to open the case myself, so I don’t know much about the movement yet. It looses 2-3 minutes a day and has a good powerreserve (+ 30 hours).
Clearly the watch is bound for the repair shop, but with a movement and case/crystal issue, I’m wondering if this watch is not a candidate for a spa treatment and indeed if JLC will undertake work on a piece like this.
Ideally I would like the movement brought up to quasi-new condition, hinges replaced/refurbished and the case issue fixed. Nothing else.
I would really appreciate any and all thoughts on the matter and experiences with sending older pieces to the JLC spa/restoration workshop,- or alternative places.
Yours
Jacob / Copenhagen
