Similarly, I had a terrible experience repairing my AP brought about by a very rude woman working in the after sales department who was condescending. The repair cost was somewhere in the $4k ballpark for a basic movement cleaning, new hands, and a bezel repolish. But, when I collected the piece, the regional manager came out to pass me the piece, and taught me how to set the date function. He was a jolly man and it reversed the incident. It goes to show leadership is very critical.

I had 3 rolexes, 1 cartier, 2 omegas, and 2 longines serviced at the official service centres when I was still living in Singapore. The service process was without hitches or divas. I hope you don’t label me as a complaining sort, but rather, an honest person. My motive was “buyers beware of the pitfalls I suffered, owners look out and take action to protect themselves from a similar disaster”. 

I would never prescribe treatment that I would not give to my loved ones if they were the patient instead, but this world can be a very dark place and good intentions may sting at first, only to be seen as good later down the track.

I guess I’m back now for the moment, until some other life event takes precedence over this hobby/addiction.
