So many questions

 By: MTF : February 27th, 2011-18:38
dje, First - congratulations! Now, the questions come flooding in: 1) Does it work like a scientist's watch? Has it kept its precision? 2) Why is the dial so white when the hands are a little tired? 3) Whom did Vlad have to MDK (murder death kill) for you...

Hi Melvyn, The answers: 1) Does it work like a scientist's watch? Has it kept its precision? It's not bad at all, but indeed a bit fast. I'll have it regulated soon. 2) Why is the dial so white when the hands are a little tired? Good question. The hands a...

Big Congrats Dje,

Finally you found one, I saw your write up on July and you also acquired another chronometre piece on Sept, what was it? Enjoy and congrats again best, Eddy

Thanks!

 By: Dje : March 2nd, 2011-13:50
Hi, The watch I got in July was a Girard-Perregaux 1966. It is not a chronemeter (although quite precise) as it is not certified but it is a Tribute to the Centenary Prize of the Neuchatel Observatory given to Girard-Perregaux in 1966. I love those simple...

and thank you for your post. Very informative. i did not realize that Dufour was inspired by this calibre. J

My pleasure!

 By: Dje : March 2nd, 2011-13:53
Hi, Philippe Dufour was apparently inspired by the base calibre. If he had the Gephysique in mind is another story, as this version is not the best finished. Cheers Dje

I am happy for you Dje

Man oh man what a catch

 By: Mostel : February 27th, 2011-22:32
Congratulations seems only the beginning. What a watch. The minimalism, yet the classicism of the dial, the face. Now the glory: the movement, which, even before you mentioned Dufour's name, I was ready to say 'I see the Simplicity's Inspiration in this m...

That's a BIG catch. Well done. I can understand why its your Grail. If I didnt have such big wrists it would be at the top of my list. It is in every aspect a fantastic watch. A few weeks ago, I was lucky to play with one of the pieces that was on Mt Anto...

You will see more Christian

 By: Dje : March 2nd, 2011-14:30
Hi, Thank you for your comments. Is it the watch sold by auction last year that you saw? Cheers Dje

NO it was owned

 By: ChristianDK : March 3rd, 2011-13:08
By JLC. I attended a JLC dinner in Copenhagen with mr Shaffter. The watch had an engraving with the Mt Antoine LeCoultre on the back. Mr Shaffter explained he had worn the watch during the Climb. Christian

ROFL

 By: ChristianDK : March 4th, 2011-14:09
No but it was on my mind;-) BUT I was sitting next to one of the JLC reps and I seriously spend more than 30 minutes pleading the reasons why JLC should do tribute to this watch. I think at the end the poor guy was a bit overwelned ;-) You're a clever guy...

I am extremely happy for you, Jerome!

Hi, Next? This is the DSA year you know! Then a Nautilus 5711/1A is immensely desired. Later a Reverso Tribute and if I win the lottery a Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire. Cheers Dje

The Duometre is always a temptation for me. Esp when you have seen one in full motion.
