These happen to be IWC but as a general preference, do you like a date or do you prefer a watch with no date? My vote goes for no date whenever possible and absolutely no date when the window is in an odd or wrong place.

but my eyes are no longer good enough to read it from a watch dial unless I am wearing my glasses. I have a general preference for no date, but I acknowledge that some watches look better with dates. I have no problem buying and wearing those, but I never...
But since practical reasons are often secondary in our hobby (nobody needs a watch to know the date or even to tell the time...), I'm casting a no-date vote for most (but not all) watches that I can think of. For certain, when the date is present, it *mus...
I still remember the disappointment I felt in seeing the Portuguese 75th anniversary, after seeing the disastrous result caused by the date. Without that date, I would have bought it immediately... Hard problem to solve! Best, massi ...
All my watches have a date but one and I recently picked up a submariner. After buying it, I had a moment of panic as i could have purchased a no date and saved some $. After wearing it for a while and the 2.5 x magnifier, i find it very helpful in this c...
and on occasion the day of the week... more so since I stopped my formal 7:30-5:00 job. but it must be large enough to read without a magnifier... Casey Small seconds are nice... .
Only non-date watches I have are my vintage pieces. I wouldn't mind picking up a modern piece with no date at some point. Maybe a Rolex Oyster or a Reverso. I really don't need any other complications on my watches and actually prefer a simple piece, with...
I typically lean towards no date, especially if a cyclops accompanies the date. But a well placed, well executed date window isn’t necessarily a deal breaker.
Is decently integrated aesthetically. I find Rolex and Lange integrate the date best and otherwise like no date. Here I don’t find it a deal breaker. Best,
Although I echo everyone else's sentiment of no-date, the thing is, the new auto 40 loses something due to the "relatively larger" size of the numerals to me. For me, the Portugueser is all about being oversized, but paired with those slightly awkward but...
Date at 3:00 - not so good, unless it's well-aligned with the remaining numerals. A frame helps... Good: Not as good: I like a date at 6:00 much better - especially with a color-matched date wheel: The GO "panoramadatum" is a special case - brilliantly ex...
Very pure watches like the IWC that you show are better without a date. Other than that I can easily live with a date. The only no-go is a date placement that reveals a (too) small movement for the chosen case size.
I don't need the date on the watch as I usually know what the date is. When I'm retired, I couldn't care less what the date is anyway, so why bother? The watch looks much better without the date in this case. Richard
Rolex and ALS watches need a date... This is typical for these brands. When it comes to simple but elegant „dress watches“ I would do without a date display.
Date is a must for me. I have one Rolex and one Montblanc that does not have the date and it drives me crazy because all my other watches have the date so I'm quite used to looking at my wrist for the date when signing documents for work.
