Spotted at the SIHH: Some Laurent Ferrier Galet, Galet Square and The Bridge!
Jan 20, 2019,10:49 AM
It is now a habit, each year I go to the Carré des Horlogers, the Independents area at the SIHH and I pay a visit to my favorite Independents, Laurent Ferrier, Gronefeld,Kari Voutilainen...
Let's start with Laurent Ferrier. I saw some versions of the Galet and Galet Square I didn't know. Of course, if I got it correctly, these are novelties.
You know the micro rotor movement very well, so I will just focus on the new dials, here.
A Galet Square pale blue, which is very fresh, idea for summer, but for the whole year, I don't know.
The chocolate, brown, tobacco is more my taste, and truth t be told, very tempting. I had hard time giving it back to Guillaume.
Now, two Galet, one with a superb opaline black dial,
And another one with a not less superb opaline silver dial.
The Annual Calendar is far from being a bad choice, but the Galet " Time Only " is much more my cup of tea. I just cannot make my mind between the round or the square...
As always, the back is a feast. This micro rotor is a huge part of the interest of Laurent Ferrier's watches. The proof that automatic can go in par with Beauty, sometimes.
And now, the star... The all new Bridge.
The case is disorienting, a kind of rectangular fitted shaped case, curved at 12 and 6 o' clock.
This version has an enamel dial. But there is another grey grained dial.
Top dressy and elegant. You just have to get used to the shape of the case.
And, as you could guess, the back of this new Bridge is not lacking interest with a superb manual winding movement.

Our dear Watchonthewrist took some good ones, and you will see how the Bridge sits on the wrist.
The Galet Square chocolate dial made the stronger impression on me. But I still dream of an enamel dial.
The Bridge was a pleasant surprise, too.
Best,
Nicolas
PS: I would like to thank Guillaume and the Ferrier Team for their warm and friendly welcome.
