Moritz Grossmann Novelty - Benu Tremblage
I feel that Moritz Grossmann is always something of a dark horse in the independent scene, quietly making some of the best watches money can buy. Recently I learned of a new release of theirs, in honor of the thirteenth anniversary of the modern resurrection of the brand. This new release is another version of their Benu, featuring a fantastic 'tremblage' dial. The rough, sandy texture is created by hand. 
The Benu Tremblage is available in steel or rose gold, and features the fabulously finished calibre 100.1

If they wanted to do it in a smaller case
They could have based the watch on the calibre and case from their Benu 37mm. But I think with this amazing dial texture, it's ok to have a few more millimeters worth of material
I realize that they’ve probably optimized everything before settling on the current movement size.
My 6.5 inch wrist will just have to “sit out” this model
Bigger balance wheels always attract my attention...
...even the 'big boys' sometimes use balance wheels that look too small.
They do have a 37mm version of the standard Benu
Unfortunately this one is not offered with the tremblage dial, but it is still a fabulous watch.
As I understand it
The only difference between this watch and the other time-only Benu models is the dial. But I suppose that alone is a pretty big refinement.
really, i'll have to research them a bit more. I've known about the brand for awhile, but it's taken this release to really grab my attention. I would imagine they have a watch.......
at a certain 'sweet spot' for my budget, that combines a certain level of refinement for an amount that isn't stratospheric.
The hands are what do it for me with every MG watch
The color, shape, and finish are all just next level. Razor sharp!
I saw it the other day and am definitely intrigued.
The brand as a whole has been on my radar. I think they are making fantastic timepieces, and have been the past 10 years or so.
The only hang up for some
Will be the price, particularly compared to the time-only offerings of Lange. But I think at this general level of price, collectors are more concerned about getting exactly what they want rather than getting the 'best deal' (whatever that may mean).
Very good-looking watch...
...and definitely different when it comes to materials and technique. The work on the dial alone is very impressive. Hope to see one in the flesh someday...

I'm curious how it compares to Lange's tremblage dials on their Handwerkskunts pieces.
From photos alone
It seems that the texture on the MG is rougher and deeper, whereas the Lange watches have shallower, finer dimples. But I think you’d have to see both in person to really appreciate the difference.

So gorgeous! I’m looking forward to seeing it in person at the local AD because I think it’s going to be amazing. In my opinion, the rose gold looks way better than steel. I’m really tempted to order one already but I already have a Benu so…hard decisions...

The LF hands are more traditional ‘spears’, whereas these are like spears with corners. Both are in the conversation for the best handsets in watchmaking imo.
