many reservations, unfortunately
Let me state again that I've gone out of my way to support independents; doing so is largely the reason I began collecting watches in the first place. So it's extremely frustrating even to consider publicly reporting a bad experience with an independent. At the same time, it does the community no good if I remain silent and others go on to have poor experiences, especially if - as is in my case - it makes those customers wary of purchasing from an independent again.
So anyway, I'll just leave it at I've had two transactions with RG and the customer service on both was what I consider unacceptable.
A distant second is poor accuracy. I'm not a stickler for accuracy on mechanical watches so that should demonstrate how bad it is that I'd even bring it up. Particularly disappointing since others on this forum have reported their RG pieces as being very accurate.
I suppose it also does not help that working with an AD is required. One AD I worked with is apparently highly regarded on this forum, but my experience with them was not good. As I don't wish to unfairly cast aspersions, I did work with Cellini on the other transaction and their customer service was excellent.
