Ben, I really like the look of it

 

And I’m sure it’s gonna be an outstanding watch on the wrist at 39.5mm. The price however is grossly overstated. If it is anywhere between 50-80K CHF I think I would take a serious look at it. At the current list, my options are plenty. Although not a parallel comparison, I would - in a heartbeat - pick up a Patek complication or some other equivalent. I concur with Jleno, at such a price point the watch needs to offer some other complication other than a HMS function. And frankly speaking, I’m a little tired of the micro rotors. At such a price point I need to see technical or aesthetic innovation apart from high level finishing. Besides, this is an old design, no matter how you spin it. So it really garners less of my attention. Further, there are cheaper alternatives with micro rotors that are also very well finished — such as Laurent Ferrier. A collector can easily pick one up in the grey market for cheap. So to conclude, great watch but too expensive and at this stage in my life I can live without it.

Great finishing, but for the money I'd also want a significant complication.

not just what else can be bought, but what else can be supported...

I go out of my way to support independents, but 250 hours of finishing or not, this is a lot of support RG is asking! I also am wary of RG customer service. So it's not just what else I could be buying, but what else I could be supporting.

Perhaps at this price point which is closing in on a price of a Perpetual Calendar Chronograph from Patek, or even Gauthier's own Logical One, and there are many other options. This watch has no complication so it's a matter of whether the finishing quali... 

From what I've seen, RG finishing looks top-notch...

...regretfully I have to agree with all that has been said by others here. At least for me with my limitations, the biggest complication with this one is... the price and I much prefer other complications in a watch 😉.

for my hesitation. I will wait for videos of the watch to come out. Based on just rendered pictures, it's hard to judge.

The "skeletonization" of this is really well done and in many ways the design feels more balanced than the original Insight Micro-Rotor. The other thing I appreciate is that skeleton watches often become very hard to read because the dial is often comprom... 

I was corresponding with a fellow member about how hairsprings should have an overcoil for best chronometry,

and he was pointing out how some very high-end watches don't have them. Two examples that don't are Roman Gauthier and Roger W Smith! Odd stuff, if anyone knows why, please share. It does add something to the conversation, though. I do love the finishing ...

...that is purely Logical Leaving aside the price issue I agree that this Skeletonized Micro Rotor is really nice but... for me the Romain Gauthier's DNA lies fully in the Logical One

I do like the watch, and every time I’ve met RG I’ve been more and more impressed.
