My layman thoughts: I will always regard Dufour as The One. His place in history is most relevant. He is The One who made Kari 'possible'. (Certainly not in terms of talent. But before Dufour, there was no independent worth mentioning. He blazed the trail. He set the standard. he took the risk. He had the vision, IMHO.)
For those reasons, I think of Dufour as more quote-unquote Important. Kari will always be mentioned 'along with' Dufour. Certainly not bad company!
Kari's work is breathtaking, so fine, so exquisite.
But I myself see him as part of the garden that Dufour planted from dry as a bone dead dirt.
They are both beyond-belief fine watches. I would love to own a Kari.
