In some ways, anything with a rubber strap looks "cheap" from some angles. Even a really expensive high quality watch with a rubber strap looks cheapened sometimes; depending on the person. A Patek Philippe Aquanaut is obviously a very high quality watch,...

MB&F has always made playful and slightly impractical watches. Sometimes very impractical watches. The first four watches; HM1, 2, 3, and 4 were all super-strange and super-niche watches. The design would only appeal to one out of a 1000 people. Then, con... 

So many trials and tribulations in the first 10 years could kill a man or at least make very good men give up. Max did so much in those ten years. And had so many incredible problems that were outside of his control. It was a good thing that he was a humb... 

He tested the boundary, going for something different and non-traditional. The HMs are so special. The LMs are cool too. But these M.A.D. cheapens the brand I think...

Kind of like Hermes vs Petite H. Vacheron Constantin has some watches with basic movements, which are completely not up to the standard of Vacheron Constantin - to me there's real confusion there. That's much more offensive than what's going on here with ... 

However I feel MB&F isn't as big or as successful yet... and these M.A.D. editions are like less than 1/20 (5%?) of the cheapest offerings within their main collections.

Looking at some of the designs - especially the Jellyfish - I mean, who on Earth would think a brand like this could reach commercial success. But hey, they made it while staying true to themselves! Yes, your ratio of 1/20th is likely very accurate. Their... 

I'm a big fan, I like watches that are made in conjunction with artists. No one is seriously wearing a MAD 1s as anything other than a fun conversation starter, this is everyone's seventeenth watch in the drawer. May as well go all the way. I'm getting on... 

Totally agreed. This is a fun weekend watch for the times where your mood is more "colorful." It's not a piece of "haute horlogerie" in the traditional sense.

Looks cool and funky but not for me

Admittedly, I've never won before, so I probably would have won now that no model appeals. But I'll give those who are interested a bigger chance instead. 😂

They have launched many different versions. BUT! Realize that each version, the edition is fairly small. Only a couple thousand pieces here and there of each version!

It’s my fourth or fifth time trying. While this isn’t my favorite iteration, this is an important collab. Good luck to everyone who entered.
