Gronefeld or Gauthier?

If you could only pick one - which would it be?

Gronefeld 1912
Gauthier Logical One

I know - mortgage the house and get them all, but wife says only one.

The Gauthier. The visible fusee chain on the dial of the Logical One allows you to admire it. The finishing of Gauthier is arguably among the top 3 in the industry together with Rexhepi and Voutilainen. The Gronefeld 1912 is a formidable watch but the Log...

Between these two Logical One

Different model could be Gronefeld

Dont forget

 By: Gelato Monster : November 15th, 2018-03:51
if you want the best tourbillon than Gronefeld is the best tourbillon winner GPHG. It is back to what you desire. sophisticated clean look 1912 Parallax vs gorgeous exotic look of Logical One. lets get both + some diamond necklace to appreciate your very ...

let's not forget...

Not at all downplaying the Gronefeld's achievements, but let's not forget that time-only tourbillons have won the Aiguille d'Or grand prize (e.g., FPJ, Greubel Forsey).

Thats a tough one for me 🤔

I realy like both of these watches and they are both on my grail list .They are also two different type of watches imho , the RG is such a special watch with that fusee chain , but then again the Gronefeld is such a stunner imho ,love the Tourbillon . Mmm...

Gauthier on this instance

The fusee chain is mesmerising and I actually really like this combination. It’s on my long short-list!

Because your wife obviously rocks

The Logical One + a 1941 Principia for your better half.

Gauthier would be my choice too

Most beautiful fusee in the world

Logical one for me...

 By: kykw : November 15th, 2018-03:12
Because it's the Gauthier I'd get. I'm already happy with my Gronefeld remontoire. The logical one has a more mature execution. The dial (or lack thereof) manages to highlight the fusee and chain in a balanced manner. The tourbillon on the 1912 is nice, b...

The Logical One.

Personally I have just been blown away by this watch, overall design and level of finishing are just amazing. I was very close to acquiring one this time last year, however the watch while super comfortable on the wrist was just a little too big for me (a...

A true dilemma

 By: colton_d : November 15th, 2018-04:54
I'll admit to looking inward for the last hour while settling into work for the day, and I keep coming back to this video from a fantastic collector/dealer of the Groenfeld. The tremblage relief engraved 1912 dial is unlike anythin I have seen - even topp...

Grönefeld for me.

 By: VMM : November 15th, 2018-05:12
The Gauthier movement looks amazing but......I like the look of the Grönefeld better. Vte

I love the Gauthier with a white dial and blue hands and markers, but it's 17mm thick

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : November 15th, 2018-05:52
Which is something to consider.

Chain and fusees are no joke! [nt]

14.2mm?

 By: gengar : November 27th, 2018-21:53
I thought the Logical One was 43mm x 14.2mm (I was looking into buying the Titanium, don't know if that makes a difference)? The 14.2mm thickness should only make it a tad thicker than the Gronefeld.

Gauthier! [nt]

Gauthier for me

 By: jayeyedoubleemmwhy : November 15th, 2018-18:30
Both watches are interesting, but I think the Gauthier wins out on the dial-side and case aesthetics. The large variety of finishing styles means there's a lot to look at and admire.

Parallax for me

 By: R : November 16th, 2018-00:22
I think in the long run the Parallax would be more satisfying. Even though I love the logical one.

This is the toughest question of the week.

 By: JerryW : November 17th, 2018-20:11
Both Gauthier and the Grönefeld brothers are very creative artists that make incredible machines for your wrist. Both are wonderful to deal and make the buying experience something special. I think it is down to a wrist test, put both on your wrist and se...

So - lost the Gronefeld at auction

 By: Watch_time_it_is : November 19th, 2018-17:13
My grand plan fell apart this morning when I lost the bid on the Gronefeld at auction. Went over my comfort level for steel case (+ the premium) Maybe someone here won it? Kicking myself for not going higher while proud I stuck to my price point. Anyway, ...

Be glad to be proud!

 By: gengar : November 28th, 2018-00:44
Never, ever go over your pre-auction price ceiling.

Gronefeld for me

 By: mark1958a : November 25th, 2018-12:35
I am surprised there are not more responses for the Gronefeld. The RG is unique but the symmetry of the dial on the Gronefeld is more pleasing for me. I think the uniqueness of the RG might wear off a bit over time. Do not get me wrong, I like both but if...

On second thought

 By: mark1958a : November 25th, 2018-17:49
The one thing that bothers me with the Gronefeld is there no way to set the minute hand to the exact minute at one minute intervals. This would bother me.
