I'm so sorry about what happened to you! I really hope you'll have the watch back in your hands before long!
It's frightening to read stories like these! I'm always sceptical of sending watches to the manufactures in private, not just because of the potential duty when it comes back in (if you haven't done the export paperwork correctly), but accidents like this might also happen. It's saddening to hear it actually happened to fellow Purists. For this reason, I get worried about those watches that I own but don't have any representation in where I live (eg. Journe, De Bethune)....

what a horror story. I don't know what the transport and insurance cost, but I think the price of a flight to pick up the watch personally may be a worthwhile investment just in peace of mind. I hope they find your watch and that this turns out well. Don
