Needed a virtual shoulder to cry on, so figured this was the place.
Learned last week that my Christian Klings was regulated, packed and on its way to the United States. A very happy day indeed. Now the waiting game begins. First a call from customs, and some forms are completed and faxed back to Fedex. Assumption is the watch will arrive the next day.
Nothing the next day, or the day after, or the day after.....
Finally a call to FedEx today to find out when my prized timepiece is to be delivered. Learned that it was actually delivered 5 days ago .... to a random company located in the same town as me. All airbills and labels were marked correctly - the driver simply delivered it to an entirely different address.
Now a bit of panic. FedEx agrees to see if they can find it, but not much confidence there. Tracked down the recipient company by searching the address, and a nice gentleman agrees to have a look to see if they can find the package amongst the many FedEx packages they send and receive each day. So far, neither FedEx nor the shipping and receiving department at the company is able to locate the package.
A bit of a sickening feeling after 2 years of waiting and anticipation. Not sure if the watch is on its way back to Germany, buried somewhere at Fedex or in a company storage room or wrapped around the wrist of a lucky company employee.
Okay - plea for sympothy is complete. Wish me luck.....
