Getting the right shade of grey . . .
. . . took some time and effort, Richard. I was initially drawn to a standard black dial configuration, but then blued hands - Dornblüth's métier - wouldn't have been legible. A silvered dial would have lent a larger appearance, so that choice was out. Grey offered some of the aesthetic minimization associated with black dials, but it had to be light enough to contrast against blued hands.

I came close to ordering a Dornblüth 04.0 . . .
. . . when they were in production some fourteen years ago, but ended tying up all available funds into a GO Senator perpetual. That move ended up being the single greatest regret of my collecting experience. Art
