Fantastic Post

One of the most enjoyable posts I've ever read -- not just because the photos are breathtaking and it is informative, but because of the considered personal observations.   Two observations as to your observations:

I completely agree about the clasp and had the same reaction to the clasp on my VH Classic.  And as to the "Vianney Halter" engraving, no two are the same, and in no photo have I ever seen the letters perfectly sized or aligned.  At first this bothered me on my Classic, but I've come to realize that there is a charm in the pronounced handcrafted appearance.  Never is (say) "Patek Philippe" on a watch imperfectly stamped out.  But the hand engraving of "Vianney Halter" proclaims that it is not machine perfect but individually engraved.  One day I hope to join you with an Antigua, or maybe a Janvier...., I just don't know which I lust after more, but the watchporn beauty of your submission (and the horological significance and pure steampunk qualities) might lean me towards the former.  Thanks for making my morning.
