My choice was for this one or the DB28 base. That it is 42 and not 44mm, and a little more conventional, one the day.

Me too, it’s the one that bit me.
I love the brand. The DB28 especially. But this one is a little more wearable, more of the time - at least for me. Quirky, but not too “out there”...
The dial is amazing. And the lugs. And the case. And the movement ain’t bad either!
