I've decided to purchase a DB28 as my representative of De Bethune. And I believe that I've narrowed it down between two open dial designs. I know this is purely subjective, but I was wondering whether there is a prevailing opinion about which one is more...

I immediately think of blued titanium. Other terms come up such as floating lugs, highly individual bridges, mirror polish, 3D moon. Wouldn’t mind the first one too; even without the blued treatment. Those are spectacular pieces. Once you’ve touched them,...

DB stands for blue titanium, for sure. Still, being a simple guy, I like my things pure and my choice would be No. 1.

For me DB must be blue titanium it is in the DNA of the brand so why go half way and take a DB which doesn’t really carry the DB attributes. Moreover there are still bridges and many parts in anthracite color which are nicely contrasting with the blue for... 

The blue is quintessential DeBethune, but I prefer fifty shades of grey.

While there is a lot of blue ti today, the early watches were not so blue and the aiguille d'or winning db28 was more like the first one. That said, the DB polished blue ti is super sweet, electric blue unlike anything else, so no bad options either way 👍... 

And you can have the watch made to look like the winner: ...  

The second is just a little blue, but not enough to be bold like the Kind of Blue.

And let me live [vicariously] through you ...  

I was lucky enough to be able to wear one and it was fantastic. The quality, styling, and finishing were incredible!! Very lucky!! I am sure you will guess which one i will pick but I think the blue contrast beautifully with the rest of the watch that is ... 

That being said, the first one was the version that won GPHG if I'm not mistaken. IMO, the first version is more attractive, you get a touch of blue with the moon phase anyway.

De Bethune has been associated with oxidized titanium for a while. I love their KOB and their Yellow Tones watches (however, they are vulnerable to scratches since the oxidization treatments are surface only, and I need a more durable watch). But their ea...
