I've had to send in a few watches I've bought secondhand, after screws or other parts came loose. The watches were always well-packed, but sometimes these things happen. It's very frustrating, the first few months of owning a new watch are the best. I agree that unknown repair cost is a stress that is not needed in life, even when funds are readily available to cover it. Fortunately, the repair is unlikely to be a major issue and Laurent Ferrier is likely to cover the repair under warranty. Independent brands tend to appreciate all owners, whether they bought new or secondhand.

Always unfortunate
It isn't just grey, although I'd be curious how a warranty gets honored through grey. Do they need to be initiated by AD to be valid? I have had 2 different watches direct from boutique need servicing 😑 so not just grey.
I called a few ADs and they said they can send it in for me even though I didn't buy from them.
Apparently, if the AD sends it in, the factory just looks at the serial number to determine if it's still in warranty. When I called LF, the lady on the phone said their agent would get back to me, so I assume it's possible to directly deal with the facto...

As all mentioned of course it must be quite frustrating
LF watches are normally quite reliable but such an incident can always happen. As all said I am also confident the outcome should be ok for the repair to go under warranty, fingers crossed... Keep up posted...

I got in contact with Charles, the US rep for LF who told me to just ship the watch to him. I ended up going to Stephen Silver (one of the California LF dealers) and they helped me process the return to the factory instead, so I don't have to deal with sh...

Well auto wind strictly adds parts, so almost by definition it is.
With a jewel (sleeve) bearing though, I think this design is supposed to be pretty reliable. The screw coming loose is...hopefully a weird anomaly.

I had it sent out on November 26th (via Stephen Silver) and got it back today (February 16) for a total wait of 82 days, not too bad. Shipping and repairs were all covered by LF. They aren't the most proactive with communications, but in the end everythin...
